Frequently asked questions for Uzbekistan Visa
This page addresses common questions about the Uzbekistan electronic visa (e-Visa) system, covering application procedures, visa types, entry rules, documents, fees and travel information.
For topic-specific detail, see the linked pages on visa types, document requirements, fees and photo specifications.
Application & Processing
How do I apply for an Uzbekistan e-Visa?
Complete the online application form, upload a facial photograph and passport scan, pay the consular fee and receive the approval letter by email. The process is entirely online — no embassy visit is required.
How long does e-Visa processing take?
Standard processing takes approximately 3–4 working days from submission. Apply at least 5–7 working days before departure to allow for potential delays, especially around public holidays.
Can I apply for an Uzbekistan e-Visa from any country?
Yes. The online application is available worldwide. You apply based on your passport nationality, regardless of your current location.
What happens after I submit my application?
Your application enters processing. Once approved, an e-Visa approval letter is sent to the email address provided. Print or save a digital copy to present at immigration.
Can I modify my application after submission?
Generally, changes cannot be made after payment and submission. If you discover an error, you may need to submit a new application with the correct information.
Visa Types & Entry
What types of Uzbekistan e-Visa are available?
Three categories: tourist (leisure, sightseeing, family visits), business (meetings, trade, conferences) and transit (stopovers, onward connections). All share 3-month validity and 30-day maximum stay per entry.
What is the difference between single, double and multiple entry?
Single entry allows one entry, double entry allows two entries, and multiple entry allows unlimited entries — all within the 3-month validity period. Each entry permits a maximum stay of 30 days.
How long can I stay in Uzbekistan with an e-Visa?
Maximum 30 days per entry, regardless of visa type or entry type. The visa itself is valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date of issue.
Can I extend my Uzbekistan e-Visa?
Extensions are not guaranteed. If you need to stay beyond 30 days, contact the local office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs before your authorised stay expires. Overstaying may result in fines or travel restrictions.
Do I need a transit visa if I stay in the airport?
If you remain in the international transit zone without passing through immigration, a visa may not be required for some nationalities. If you need to leave the airport, change terminals or exit the international zone, a transit e-Visa is required.
Documents & Requirements
What documents are required for the e-Visa application?
All applicants need a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity beyond arrival), a recent facial photograph, a passport biodata page scan, and the consular fee. Additional supporting documents may apply depending on nationality and purpose.
What passport validity is required?
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of arrival in Uzbekistan.
What are the photo requirements?
A recent passport-style colour photograph on a plain light background. Specific pixel dimensions, file size and format requirements are detailed on the photo requirements page.
Do children need their own e-Visa?
Yes. Every traveller, including infants and minors, requires a separate e-Visa application with their own photograph, passport scan and fee payment.
Fees & Payment
How much does an Uzbekistan e-Visa cost?
Fees depend on entry type: single entry USD 20, double entry USD 35, multiple entry USD 50. Processing and service fees may apply. See the fees page for the complete schedule.
What payment methods are accepted?
The online portal accepts major international credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard). Payment is collected during the application process.
Is the fee refundable if my application is denied?
Consular fees are generally non-refundable regardless of the application outcome. Service fees are subject to the provider's refund policy.
Travel & Entry
Where can I enter Uzbekistan with an e-Visa?
E-Visa holders may enter through any designated international airport, land border crossing or railway station. See the ports of entry page for the complete list.
Do I need to print the e-Visa approval letter?
A printed copy is recommended. Some border officers may accept a digital copy on your mobile device, but a printed document ensures smooth processing at all checkpoints.
Can I enter and exit from different ports?
Yes. You may enter through one designated checkpoint and exit through another, provided both are authorised for e-Visa processing.
What should I do if my e-Visa is lost or damaged?
Re-download the approval letter from your email confirmation. The e-Visa is linked to your passport number in the immigration system.
